First steps

Creating a strong platform from which to launch your career starts with your induction. This is when we’ll introduce you to our business and help you get your bearings. It’s also your chance to get to know your fellow trainees and begin building a strong network at BDO. It’s all about getting you up to speed and ready for your graduate programme.

Always there to support you

There’s no denying it, the training part is hard work but we want you to succeed as much as you do. So from day one you can count on an extensive network of support, including mentors, partners and your individual Counselling Manager. They’ll help you to settle in, find the best ways to meet the challenges you face and to achieve your full potential. You’ll also be assigned a buddy (a more experienced colleague) and you can use the Professional Qualifications Team, to support you through your professional exams.

Your training

We will support you throughout your training. This includes the courses you’ll study and the exams you’ll take. Each qualification is a mixture of self-taught and classroom teaching. We make sure you have sufficient study time and support whilst studying. Safe to say our results are excellent!

Training includes not only the specialist knowledge and practical tools you’ll need for your business area, but also a range of personal, management, client service and client-winning skills. Together, they will help you to become a fully rounded BDO adviser.

Which qualification to go for?

Choosing a particular business area and qualification may seem a bit daunting at this stage but we’ll give you as much information as possible about the options available, so you can see how well they fit in with your strengths and interests. Each stream of our Graduate Programme comes with a pre-determined professional qualification. This is what you’ll study towards while carrying out your day-to-day duties.
